Overnight on Eastham, Cape Cod with 5 teen girls :)

I have been to Eastham once or twice but not recently (6+ years ago) so any up to date advice on places to eat, best beaches, things to do would be much appreciated.
This is a surprise birthday treat for my daughter and her friends (all aged 15) and we plan to arrive before 3pm on a Thursday in June for a one night stay at the Sheraton.

So some things I hope to include...
Beachtime!
I've been to Nauset Light and Coast Guard beach and have hazy memories of both. Where would be best to spend an afternoon? They will want to swim for as long as they can withstand the water, brr!

Shopping;
Friday morning for an hour or possibly Thursday night? Shops that appeal to teens? They will want souvenir t-shirts and ice cream I imagine

Evening activity?
Wellfleet drive -in if the movie is suitable? good idea?
Pool time and in room movie?
After dinner beach walk? where? My choice but maybe out voted LOL

Food?
They eat like locusts!
Suggestions for family friendly food as one or two are fussy eaters. Italian or American fare preferred. One vegetarian(pizza/pasta). Quick and easy lunch spot or picnic?

Recommendations for dinner on Thursday and lunch on Friday. Breakfast on Friday? We might take some yogurts with us as we will have a refrigerator but if there's somewhere we can have an inexpensive breakfast that would be good.

Anything else I should know?
Oh should I get a parking pass for the beaches? Is there a shuttle system?

Thanks all!

As far as I know, there is no public transportation to the various beaches on Cape Cod (except seasonally from P-town to its close-by beaches), unless the Sheraton happens to provide one -- you'll have to drive to them.

I've been to the Hole in One in Orleans, which does a good breakfast and has worthwhile donuts as well. There's an outpost of this place in Eastham that apparently is just a place to get baked goods, donuts, and beverages, but presumably their donuts are as good as the one I had in Orleans.

Thanks for your suggestions bachslunch.. happy to drive provided we can park at the beach!
Donuts sound like a great idea for the teens.

If we could combine a breakfast and shopping trip to Orleans on Friday morning I think I would prefer a less sugary breakfast at the main branch of Hole in One. Again, I may be outvoted unless there's shopping for the girls

A perfect overnight on the Cape! The weather was absolutely incredible, hot with a sea breeze and we spent the afternoon at Cahoon Hollow Beach. Love this beach!

Dinner was at the Lighthouse in Wellfleet, it was Mexican night. Good and inexpensive (which was important as we had 5 teens to feed).
We went to the Bay side for sunset around 8.30pm followed by dessert which was birthday cake back at our hotel and then a late night swim in the pool.

The Hole in One was perfect for breakfast!

The line was long at 8am but moved quickly and we ate on the bench outside under the tree.
I tried the 7 layer bar which was delicious, everyone else had bagels or donuts and they were all great (toasted coconut donut was a big hit)

Spent an hour or so at Nauset Light Beach but it was sooo hot we thought we'd melt even at 10 am. We did see a seal swimming to and fro just a few yards from shore, entertaining the swimmers.

Headed back to the hotel for another swim at the indoor pool to escape the fierce sun then we packed up and left at noon.
Lunch in Orleans at a pizza place, ice cream at our next stop in Yarmouth I think (Lil Caboose) and then onto Hyannis for the last chance to souvenir shop. The girls picked up cheap sweatshirts emblazoned with Cape Cod... back to school shopping already!

Home by 6pm and the hit the tail end of the storm.

Sounds like you all had a great time. Thanks for reporting back. It has to be really hot for it to be too too hot for those beaches!

cw, yes the girls had a great time and my daughter didn't have a clue about the surprise until she got home and her cake said 'Cape Cod'.
It was unbelievably hot even at 10am! Hot enough for me to go in the ocean which is very unusual.

It is so nice on the Cape, I returned about three weeks ago from my 2 week stay. Sadly, we had rain almost the entire time! Two nice days on Nantucket and then it was awful rain and clouds and cold. I was so sad!
Bowsprit, I wish you lots of sunshine and warm weather.

Thanks, our houseful appreciates good weather as do I. It's tough entertaining little ones inside for more than an afternoon, although we've managed weeks of rainy weather with puzzles, movies, theatre, walks on the beach, clamming and naps! The little kids are actually easier to entertain than their parents and the bigger kids!

Yes, Cahoon Hollow Beach is absolutely gorgeous. It's my favorite place on the Cape.

My best friend is visiting in October and I'd planned a weekend in Vermont but have now decided to take her to the Cape instead. Yay, another trip to Cahoon Hollow.
Who knows what the weather will be like then but I'm not expecting 90F+

Just bundle up and you'll have a great time. You'll be surprised at the number of people walking on the beach in October!
