Other good travel message boards?

This is a great board but does anyone know of any others as sort of a second opinion?

I like Lonely Planet's Thorn Tree Bulletin Board (http://thorntree.lonelyplanet.com/thorn/). There is a huge volume of messages, at least 3-4x that of Fodors. Unfortunately, half of those are not travel-related, because this board seems to be frequented by too many juveniles. Also, most of the questions and advice are geared to low-budget travel, so you won't be able to get much help with things like hotels. Still, many of the posters are quite knowledgeable, particularly about out-of-the-way international locations.

The boards on www.eurotrip.com are great mainly for younger people (but there is also a board about family travel) who plan a trip to Europe. It also has a board for 'the rest of the world'.

One of my favorites is http://www.webflyer.com although it's geared towards airlines and hotels rather than destination travel.

Jack, your AOL Travel Boards are excellent. It was the ONLY thing I liked during my 6 months with AOL. Each state as I recall has its own webpage and I received very helpful and insightful advice for a visit to the UK.

The Lonely Planet website is fast disintegrating into vulgar insults and fake posts (called "trolls") and is hardly worth the time to visit. It is geared to the low budget traveller who stays in hostels and uses greyhound busses -- at least in the USA.

I agree about Lonely Planet however, they are making more of an effort to delete the "trolls". Every evening on the Canada board, at least 6 or 7 post insulting comments regarding the USA or visa versa. In the Australian board, it is the same. There is also a great deal of profanity. As was stated above, juveniles fresh out of classes with nothing better to do than insult others.

Fodors still seems to be the best travel related board that I have found.

The deja.com message board is now http://groups.google.com. Before google took it over it was a good messqge board. Now, you can read the messages and responses e but I don't think you can post directly. You have to go through a newsgroup to post.

Both Ivillage.com and parentsplace.com have pretty good travel boards. You need to register, but it's free.
