Orlando timeshare reviews

Has anyone stayed at the Celebration World Resort timeshare and can you give me some feedback about what you thought. I would be interested in feedback on any Orlando Timeshare.

We stayed in Star Island Resort and Club (Kissimee) for a week (or so) in August of 2001. Paid around $50 for a one-bedroom and had to go to a timeshare presentation. The resort is quite nice but the economics of holding a timeshare just isn't there. The maintenance payments alone amount to $400-600/week; for that alone you can find a good hotel room in Orlando. Maybe timeshare makes sense for someone with a large family who absolutely needs a kitchen. Even then, I'd go with a second-hand rather than buying from a developer.

We stayed at Marriott Cypress Harbor a few years ago in Orlando...timeshare thru Interval International. It was wonderful! a short drive to Disney but we loved it.

My family of 5 stayed at Orange Lake Country Club Resort in Kissimmee Nov of 2001 for 2 weeks. It was a very nice place with a lot of activities .. golf, great swimming area, store and etc. We exchanged through RCI. When we were not at Disney, my husband did some golfing and the kids and I went to the nice pool with waterfalls, slide and all. We have stayed in nicer condo's, but would rate the 2 bedrm we stayed in 7 or 8 out of 10. It was a little smaller than other condo's we have been in, but still nice.

We are going back to Florida in March of 2004 and have booked Sheraton's Vistana Resort. It looks very nice and RCI says it's one of their best places next to Orange Lake. By the way I think we got an older condo at Orange Lake .. so a newer one might be bigger with newer amenities.

Are you a member of RCI or II or ? If you are you can look on their website and get feedback from other members who have stayed there.

Have a super time!

For information on timeshares around the world...AND Orlando, go to the Timeshare Users Group (TUG) @ www.tug2.net There is a members only section that has reviews, written by other timeshare owners. Registration is necessary, but membership is not.

We have stayed at the Hilton Grand Vacation Club @ Seaworld and found it very nice, with lots of activities and amenities.

Orlando is the timeshare capital of the world. They are everywhere. We own a timeshare at Marriott's Grande Vista. It has a Nick Faldo golf school, attractive pools, a cute lighthouse bar and well maintained spacious two bedroom apartments. It is located closer to Sea World than Disney World but Disney is only 15 min away in tourist traffic. We only use if every few years preferring to trade through Interval International and the Marriott timeshares which are considered some of the best.

The Disney Club timeshares are also comparable. LMF
