Orlando Disney trip advice needed

My family will spend a few days at Orlando Disney world this august. We have 4 adults (including 2 seniors 64 and 68) and a 1.5 year old.

day 1 arrival at Disney beach resort around 2pm
day 2 whole day
day 3 whole day
day 4 whole day
day 5 only morning is available (I got some business to do in the afternoon)
day 6 departure in the morning

I'm planning the itinerary for our trip. I don't want a tight itinerary given that we have a young toddler and 2 seniors. Any suggestion on where we should go and how I arrange our activities? Thanks!

I recommend getting a copy of The Unofficial Guide Walt Disney World 2013. Lots of good information on itineraries. For further questions you should go to disboards.com. The people over there know everything about Walt Disney World.

Be sure to leave some time for the pool at the Yacht and Beach which I think you'll find is one of the best ones in the entire resort.

A great website forum for Disney is www.disboards.com

Everything and anything Disney you could imagine being discussed. Tons of great advice from people who have gone many times and really know what they are talking about. Friendly group too.

Be prepared for weather that is hellishly hot and a good possibility of T storms in the afternoon.

Be sure to take enough rests in cooled facilities and make sure that everyone stay well-hydrated.

Agree Disboards is a great resource.

One tip we found really helpful is that if there are lines to the left and the right - the left is always faster - no matter how it looks.

Also be prepared for a toddler to be scared of the characters - some are fine, but many find them large and scary.

We had some at our breakfast at the Hilton (characters not our choice) and a couple little kids were crying so much they had to be taken out of the restaurant.

No idea where you are coming from, but I'd probably spend day one just hanging at the pool. Maybe head to downtown disney if you are itching to get out.

Which parks are you interested in? Are you buying hopper passes? How many day passes?

I'd plan at least one full day for Magic Kingdom. I'd also plan a day at Epcot....the seniors should really enjoy it and your 1.5 year old is young enough not to care. Your half day can either be Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios.

Take an afternoon break and head back to hotel to rest/swim.

Make dining reservations now as slots will fill up fast.
