Oregon Wildfire Reports
I should have started this topic about 2 weeks ago before the Two Bulls fire just west of Bend. That fire was 100% contained on Tuesday at 6900 acres.
I"m hoping that this mornings fire south of Hood River does not get anywhere near that big.

It is scary that it is over 50 acres at 6AM when it had not been reported until after 3AM.
Please be very careful with fire and fireworks in Washington, Oregon and California.

Over the last 10 days we have had many lightning caused fires.
The fire weather watch continues most days from 2PM to 11PM most days.
Yesterday the Oregon Gulch fire took off form less than 100 acres to over 5300 acres. It started about 6 miles east of Ashland near the state line and is now burning in Jackson, Klamath and Sisquou (sic) County California.
The Britt Festival starts tonight.

The fire season has been continuing in Oregon and northern California. We have not had any significant rain in over 3 weeks.
The Onion Mountain Fire has been a problem for the Grant Pass area for a few days.
The 790 fire has been putting some smoke into Crater Lake NP when the wind is from the south.
In California, the Happy Camp Complex has grown to over 110K acres in the last week.
Just as fire crews were getting a handle on these fires, yesterday afternoon the Boles fire blew up in the small town of Weed.
The fire blew up and in a matter of hours, burned over 100 homes, a church and the High School. The same windy conditions are predicted for this afternoon as yesterday afternoon. Let's hope the air attack on these fires is enough to prevent further loss of property or lives.
As they say: "Weed got smoked".
