Yes, the bums are great! It's always nice to have people that do know the area help. Well we have decided to stick with the Gorge / Mt Hood / Coast. We have found a lot of hiking areas on the coast that we want to spend time at. Now if we have some good tides! Need to learn how to read the charts. Two days Gorge / two days Mt Hood, three days Coast. Ok, where to stay? I would like a washer/dryer mid trip.

Are you referring to tide tables, kimp? What's your question?
And where on the coast have you decided to hike? Then, what's your budget for lodging? Don't know if it fits the itinerary (or budget), but Overleaf Lodge in Yachats has probably the most spectacular setting of any place on the entire coast: http://www.overleaflodge.com/

The lower the #, means the lower the tide? Some days show negative, what does that mean?
We are figuring on driving to coast when we get in Friday night, unless you say we are going to miss some good sites in the daylight, then we will stay @ airport. Is it a safe drive @ night? If we drive to coast Friday night we will stay around Cannon 1st night. Saturday doing Saddle Mountain, hitting Haystack, Ecola. Sunday/Monday - Manzanita Neahkahnie Mountain, Cape Falcon, Cascade Head, Yaquina Head, and end up at Cape Perpetuia. To much? Is it possible to stay same places all nights, and travel down and back the coast? We can manage around 12 miles a day hiking. Figuring on 3 full days (Sat, Sun, Mon), Tuesday heading to the Gorge.
Would like to stay under $200 a night. Thanks.
