I've been to the cape many times and love the eastham/orleans area, but this year I will be bringing an infant so it's important to have a location that is either on or within walking distance to a beach. For this reason I was looking at a rental in the town of Onset. Can anyone tell me if this is just over the bridge or right before it? Also, is this a decent area or is it really busy?

I should add that the main reason for choosing Onset is that it costs less...

You didn't tell us the address of the rental, so no one can answer your question.

Onset is before the Cape in the town of Wareham...Wareham is a busy area, Route 6 and the Approsch roads to the Bourne Bridge....not too sure about your specific location though.

Oh, and definitely not like the Eastham/Orleans area...

I replied to your other post. Onset is before the bridge. Wareham is busy - the main drag is Rte 28 known as Cranberry Highway, and is your typical strip mall sprawl - used to be the only way over the Bourne Bridge. Onset is a Victorian village that is coming back. It has a really nice, safe beach. Busy on July 4th and there is a blues festival and a cape verde festival but I'm not sure of the weekends. Otherwise nowhere near as busy as the cape.
