One Day in Port Canaveral

We are having a 1 day cruise stop at Port Canaveral at the end of January. What can we do without hiring a car.
Jetty Park looks good but can we walk there? We are from the UK and used to walking. A beach day would be nice. Where else can we get to easily?
Also,,can anyone advise where to go to obtain free wi fi nearby.
Thanks to you all for help.

While the distance to JP isn't great, it's not a good walking area because of traffic, etc. Take a cab, probably for about $10. And ask the driver for the approximate fare before taking getting in.

You can also take a cab into Cocoa Beach, which is farther, about 15 miles. It's not my favorite place, but it has shops, restaurants and a beach. Try Yen-Yen if you like Chinese food.

As for wifi, many restaurants and coffee shops have it, but I can't give you any specifics on that.

Stay in Cape Canaveral if it is a nice beach day. It depends where your ship docks. Ron Jon's is always a fun adventure and they have a star bucks so should have wifi. Take a cab. If your boat docks at the new terminal you can walk to all the eateries right there. We go to Grills and Fishlips often.
There is the explore tower there that is interesting and not expensive to visit.
Astronaut blvd has Florida beer company off one of the side streets and it is great for trying all the local beers.

We had a cruise stop there last week. The ship offers excursions to Disney World and The Kennedy Space Center. We did the Space Center last week, since we've done Disney a number of times in the past.

The Space Center is about a 15 minutes bus ride from the cruise terminal, Disney is close to an hour away. Both are good ways to spend the day.
