One Day In Fort Lauderdale

We have one day in Fort Lauderdale in January. We're flying in on a Sunday and leaving on a Monday for a cruise. Any suggestions for what we "must do". Recommendations for restaurants would be appreciated as well. We're looking for thinks that we're not going to be able to do at every port of call on our cruise. Thanks for your help.

last mango(I love your screen name BTW), there is ton of stuff here on FLL. Do a search here for attractions and restaurants. If you need more info, we will try to help. Have a great time in my new hometown (in 2 weeks).

Las Olas & Riverfront via water taxi, with it's good restaurants and shops, is a nice way to spend a few hours. Have lunch al fresco on Las OLas..Mangoes is fun. Big City Tavern is too. Use the water taxi to spy all the gorgeous Mansions on Millionaire's row. Where are you staying and will you have a car? Chima, on Las Olas is a very good Brazilian steak house..not something found on Caribbean ports of calls IMO.

I agree with Judyrem. spend the day on the beach and in the downtown Fort Lauderdale. Here are some links to help you plan your one day vacation better.

riverwalk in Fort Lauderdale with all the happenings and things to do and see
www.goriverwalk.com

shops and dining on las olas blvd.

water taxi to get around

chima, THE best place for an amazing lunch $20 per person with all the meat you can and eat and for dinner $40. very expensive, but for the ambiance and the food worth it

also check out Fort Lauderdale travel web.

sorry these are not linked, but copy and paste in the browser.
hope it helps

Thanks very much for the recommendations. Especially the one for the Brazilian steakhouse...we're both big steak lovers!

We're thinking we're going to rent a car so getting around should be fairly easy. We're staying at the Amerisuites on 10th Street.
