Omaha Steakhouse: Johnny's or Goratz's?

Will be going on this Saturday night. I know the decor of these places is not great, but I don't really care. Just interested in the steak. I've checked the reviews of Omaha steakhouses and there doesn't seem to be a concensus favorite. I've decided not to spend the $$$ at Omaha Prime on the Old Market because I've read too many mixed reviews. Seems to be a lot of service complaints too at all of these places. I've never been to, or thought about, Omaha that much. But after researching the city it looks pretty cool. Any help would be appreciated.

Been to Gorat's many, many times, and have never been disappointed with the food. Father-in-law is a cattleman near Omaha, and it's the only steakhouse he'll go to in Omaha. Pretty good endorsment!

Either has about the same amount of personality. I think you get better service at Johnny's. Same type of food, cost and portion amounts at both.

But, on the flip side Gorat's does boast hosting Warren Buffet & Bill Gates when they are in town together.

Have a great time in Omaha.

You really can't go wrong either place, as long as you go in there knowing the atmosphere is not great but the food is. Here's another thought--check out the Bohemian Cafe in south Omaha if you want the best Czech food of your life. I was there for the first time a couple of weeks ago and thought I'd died and gone to heaven with the pork loin/sauerkraut/dumplings. Fabulous. The decor hasn't changed in 30 years and that's part of the charm. Have fun in Omaha.

Omaha is a great steak town lived here all my life. Either place will yield good food. Gorats is a somewhat older crowd and Johnny's is somewhat pricey depending order etc. Personally I could suggest Cascio's, Piccolo Pete's or Anthony's all moderately priced. If you want A nice place, with great atomsphere and probably best prime rib and also good steaks try Brother Sebastion's. We also Have great Italians restaurants in town ENJOY ENJOY! Hope this helps
