Okay--semi-final NYC itinerary--critique please?
Thanks for all the help along the way! I've noted some questions in bold, and I would appreciate any critique? Specifically, would it make sense for any unknown reason to swap Saturday and Sunday morning/early afternoon schedules? I haven't booked anything yet, but I suspect I will have to book the walking tour pretty soon as it's a holiday weekend. Wish I could wait to see what the weather (rain?) would be like!
4 adults May 25-28
Friday
Arrive LGA on AA 11:55am
Cab to hotel 37th and Lex
Lunch at Grand Central
Subway to the Met (just to see one exhibit or catch a tour)
Central Park stroll
Dinner (maybe Top of the Rock, too)
Saturday
WTC site
St. Pauls
(THINK WE'LL HAVE TIME FOR THIS BEFORE 11?)
Foods of NY tour of Greenwich (11-2)
Stroll around Chinatown/Little Italy
Broadway @ 8pm Curtains
Dinner
Sunday
Sarge's Deli for breakfast
Ellis Island
Grimaldi's for lunch
Walk back across bridge
Maybe LES East Village strolls or 5th Avenue/midtown (ADVISE?)
Dinner
Monday
Flight leaves at 4:05
WILL WE HAVE TIME TO DO MUCH? Maybe save 5th Avenue stroll for this time?

I had been to St Paul's twice before and was surprised to find the exhibit gone. We were there on a Saturday afternoon, and the gates and doors were closed. We passed by again the following Monday - still shut tight. I'm confused by the info on their website. Maybe someone else out there can help clarify the situation.

I think the only thing in question is your Sat. morning plan. If the exhibit is gone at St. Paul's, going all the way down to the WTC imo is pointless. Pass by it if you must on the way to the ferry for Ellis Island. Go to Bubby's for breafast on Sun. morning. It's better than Sarge's and on the way.
If you have Bubby's (or Sarge's) for breakfast and Grimaldi's for lunch, you won't NEED dinner.
If your flight leaves out of LGA at 4, you'll have all morning for whatevery ou want.

I don't think you are going to be able to squeeze in the met, lunch, and a stroll through the park on friday. You are landing at 12. By the time you de-plane, get luggage, navigate the airport, wait on line for a cab, it will be close to 1. If you are lucky you will arrive at your hotel by 1:45. Check in, dump stuff, now it is 2.
Lunch until 3 and cab to met, line to get in. 3:30.
This is what I would do:
Friday
2 pm. Leave hotel and walk up to 41st and lex. Grab a very quick sandwich at Pret a Manger and bring to Met. Sit outside on the steps to eat. A very NY thing to do. People watch.
3 pm - 6 pm. Met.
6 pm - 7 pm (will still be daylight)-walk through park from Museum down and out through 60th and Fifth. Go have dinner.
After dinner, walk to Grand Central and take a looksee before heading back to hotel.
Saturday
Looks okay, but forget Chinatown/Little Italy. You will be stuffed anyway. Walk around Soho or go to lower east side for Tenament (sp?) Museum Tour, and continue your food experiments with Yonah Schimmel Knishes and some Katz Deli food to tide you over for the show.
Sunday
Skip Sarge's - nothing special. Go to the Morgan Library (37 & Madison), visit this beautiful little museum, and have brunch there. Or hit the Neue Gallery for an hour and eat at Cafe Sabarsky.
Then, go spend some more time in central park.
Monday, do the Ellis Island trip. It will be less crowded on a weekday. Just double check that it is open.

Bugswife1--thanks for the honest feedback. We won't be checking bags, so leaving the airport will be a little quicker than you've anticipated, but I still know that my plan was a bit ambitious. I appreciate your suggestions.
We won't be able to do Ellis Island on Monday because our plane leaves at 4pm.

Just my .02 cents, I would reverse the food tour with chinatown/little italy. You can walk up from WTC/St. Pauls and work up a good appetite and then do the food tour. You're kind of going further north to come south again, know what I mean?
Also St. Pauls is a magnificent church in and of itself and while you might not have the memorial there I would still go to the church. Trinity is also beautiful as well.
Also just a heads up, I believe Fleet week is that week/weekend.
