October Getaway to New Orleans?
We've got a trip to Australia coming up in April and I imagine we'll do something here in Canada in the summer. But I'm always planning ahead and we've got some ff miles banked and I'm thinking of taking a short (4 day) trip somewhere in October. I was thinking of New Orleans. Is that a good time of the year to travel in that area? It's a city we've always wanted to visit.

It is usually a good time to visit. October and April usually have the best weather in the South.
The only potential bad weather I could envision would be if a large hurricane heads toward N.O., but the odds of that are pretty low!

We went to NO last October for 5 nights (10/13-10/18). 4 nights is fine. The weather was beautiful. NO is actually much further inland than most people realize, so the hurricane which was devistating to costal areas a week prior to our arrival was not at all evident in NO. No car necessary. Took cabs to anything of interest that was not within walking distance to the FQ. If you decide on a tour, they pick you up at your hotel. Have fun!
