My mother, step-father and I are planning a visit to my brother and his family ... they live in Weston, and we'd like to stay relatively nearby. To keep the cost down, we're thinking of trying to find a 1 or 2 br suite. Is it possible that we could find a place near the beach, and still be close to my brother's home in Weston? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Michele - you'll need to be explicit about the town and state you are visiting. Do you mean Weston, MA. If so Weston is not 20 minutes away from any beach. You could stay in Rockport or Gloucester but depending on traffic you would be at least 35-75 minutes away. Closest waterfront would be downtown Boston and that is not cheap. Please post again with the state so you get a better response.

If in fact, you do mean, Weston, MA, I suppose that you would look at hotels in Framingham, Natick, and Waltham. If you want to go to a lake, there is Lake Cochituate State Park in Framingham and Natick. The access to it is on Route 30 in Framingham. That would probably be the closest lake to Weston.

If you want the ocean, head for the north shore as Bennie has mentioned. By the way, the cost for parking at beaches like Wingarsheek is about $15-$20/day during the summer.

I'm sorry to have caused confusion ... I posted under the "Florida" section, and thought that it would be clear which state I meant. It's Weston, Florida -- near Ft Lauderdale. Thanks to the previous to posts for trying to be helpful ... I wish I was going to those destinations!

Michele - just a helpful hint. Ther is no "Florida Section". Clicking on Florida merely allows someone to search for infromation about Florida. All threads end up on the same general USA Forum. That is why we were confused. Perhaps you should post again with a better title - something like "beachside suite hotel near Weston FL?"

You'll have to stay in Fort Lauderdale or Hollywood. Traffic on 595 can be miserable depending on the time of year. Will be about 1/2 to hour drive depending on traffic. Lots of places in Fort Lauderdale. You brother will probably want to visit you at your hotel, Weston is a bedroom town for us worker-bees in Florida.
