Ocean Key Resort - Best Room?
Thanks forall your help, we have decided to stay at the Ocean Key resort based on recommendations here. I know to ask for upper level floors 3rd-4th floor. Which is the best room to view sunsets and water views? We have never been there and we do not want to face the street but want to be able to sit on the balcony at night and look over the water. Thanks again for all your help

Room 318 has the best views hands down. This is a 1 bedroom suite with a full kitchen. This room overlooks Mallory Square and the ocean. You can see the sunsets from your large balcony that is contencted to the master and the living area. AWESOME ROOM! My husband & I were married at Ocean Key & always stay in this room. I am guessing the room on the 4th floor directly above 318 is the same, but not certain. Enjoy!

Sorry to be a pest, but are there rooms with that great view without a kitchen?? On their website they show a great room with a big bathtub. Is that the type of room you had? If the rooms with the great view only have kitchens what are they like? We really do not need one as we are staying for 4 days. Thanks again

No problem. I love talking about Key West. I am not certain of the answer, but will give my best guess & possibly check with the resort to clear up. I believe the rooms with the best views are the 1 bedroom suites. Like I mentioned, 318 has views of the pool, ocean & Mallory Square. I do not believe there are any Street views based on the way the hotel is situated at the end of Duval. You will get what I'm saying when you arrive. The street ends at Ocean Key. I do believe the only rooms in town that would have a view of the ocean & Mallory Square would be at Ocean Key. We had many people staying with our party at the resort during our wedding. Some had the smallest room, which all overlooked the courtyard with no balcony. Others had the Jr Suite, which is the one I am guessing you are referring to with the tub pics from the web. My sister's room overlooked Mallory Square & had a partial ocean view. Others in this category were in the other building overlooking the gulf side. I do not know if there are other rooms in the JR Suite category that have better views. Should check with the hotel. In my opinion, 318 has the best view & balcony, so to be safe we get that room. Which, by the way, has a huge garden tub....probably too big! We usually do not use the kitchen, so it is sort of a waste, but you cannot beat the view! Incidently, when cruise ships come into port it looks as though they will come right through the patio door when you get up in the morning. Very cool! This doesn't block your view of Mallory, the pool or the ocean. Hope this makes some sense. If not let me know & I'd be glad to clarify or answer another question. Have fun!

A little clarification. I just went to the website & they have changed it a bit. If you click on accomodations & then photo tour....the first pic is of the tub in the 1 bdrm suite, the 2nd is of the jr suite bath with the funky sink & the tub in the foreground, the 3rd is the view out the living room of the 1 bdrm (318). The accomodations homepage shows the jr suite. According to this, there would be a jr suite with a great view, if you go by the accomodations main page.
