Ocean City, MD Condos

I'm looking for any info/recommendations for OC condos. I have 2 small children, so want something oceanfront with a pool.
Thanks!

there are literally 1000s of places there-you need to be more specific-like price range. A great place for kids is Bethany Beach, DE. which is just a few miles from OC. Sea Colony is a huge complex there with 1, 2 and 3 bedroom condos, all oceanfront. There are also bayside townhomes and patio homes in the complex. There are pools, tennis courts, etc. Prices range, usually denpending on the condition and size of the place, and almost all are rented thru realtors or the local management company. OC itself stretches well over 100 blocks; all streets are numbers (20th, 21st, etc) The lower numbers are by the board walk and the beaches are more crowded and rowdier. We always stay above 55th Street to avoid the crowds and boardwalk traffic. Last year we stayed pretty close to the Delaware border and it was perfect. Less luxurious accomodations than some years, but close to the beach (not beachfront but the next row and just an alley to cross to get to the beach) and it had a small indoor pool which was great when the weather didn't cooperate.

Thanks Rachel.

You mentioned our budget--I was thinking around $1800-2000.

I just tried Sea Colony, but they don't have any 2-bedroom units available for the week I want to travel. Plus, my husband wants all the "excitement" of OC?!!

OK, I'm narrowing it down (well, I don't have much choice this late in the season?!?).
Any info on following OC condos: Antigua, Quay, Atlantis, 9400, Golden Sands or Plaza?

We go to OC about every other year. We always stay at the Sea Watch. I think it is about 125th. The units are all angled so that the patios for all the Condo's have a view of the ocean. We stay in a front unit, which has a patio front & back, & has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, Kitchen, living room/dining area & den. Sea Watch has both an outside pool & an indoor pool. If you are looking for condos for this summer, there may not be any available, but it doesn't hurt to check. & I think it would fit your price range. Just thinking about it is making me hungry for some Maryland blue crab.

My folks have a condo at 110th Street. Haven't been there for 7 or so years. I found that by 10 AM the beach is wall-to-wall people with little space for kids to roam and frolic. Ocean City is a rather poor excuse of a resort for families with kiddies. I'd venture to the Carolinas.

Roger,

We live in Pgh., so OC is fairly close. But, where in the Carolinas would you suggest?

Suggestion: Topsail Beach, NC. Plenty of room. Topsail Motel will run you about $ 400 a week. It's hard to get a condo for much less than a grand in Ocean City. Topsail has some failry good restaurants. The water temp is about 80 degrees NOW. If you call any of the top Topsail realty companies- Ward Realty, Century 21 or Topsail Realty- you probably can get a house for less than $ 1000, even on Oceanfront. Ward Realty and Century 21 are on the Internet with sites. Type Topsail Island, Ward or Century 21. Pics of cottages and everything. From Pittsburgh, you'd take 70 south from Breezewood to the DC Beltway 495. Take 95 South to Interstate 40 near Smithfield, NC (hometown of Ava Gardner). Take 40 southeast toward Wilmington until Rt. 210 at Rocky Point. 210 will take you to Rt. 17 and you take that for about 20 miles northest to hit the island. Due to all the interstates, you'll make very good time and not get stuck in Chesapeake Bay Bridge traffic going to Ocean City. You will not regret going to Topsail.
