Mo, I thought it was the *beach* at Oak Bluffs (not Oaksbluff) that was historically referred to as the "inkwell" because long ago it was a popular destination for black families to take vacations, because the religious communities on the island were tolerant of racial diversity.

Thanks Boss Tonn and Charles. I win the bet I guess. When I told my friends this story they all started to laugh. They said it referred to the literary greats that vacationed here. Unfortunatly every book store I've been in lately didn't have The Fodors Mass. Thanks again.
