Oaksbluff history question

Can someone settle an argument for me?The area in Oaksbluff is it Inkwell or Inktown? How did it get its name? The truth please. Thank you very much. I hope I'm the one with the correct answer and not my sister.

It's called inkville and got it's name when they built the bic pen factory.

ayma, better leave comedy to the professionals.

Mo, I thought it was the *beach* at Oak Bluffs (not Oaksbluff) that was historically referred to as the "inkwell" because long ago it was a popular destination for black families to take vacations, because the religious communities on the island were tolerant of racial diversity.
Boss ton is absolutely correct. And it is still referred to as the Inkwell. You can by t-shirts and sweatshirts with the name, and an independent movie was made about it several years ago.

Thanks Boss Tonn and Charles. I win the bet I guess. When I told my friends this story they all started to laugh. They said it referred to the literary greats that vacationed here. Unfortunatly every book store I've been in lately didn't have The Fodors Mass. Thanks again.
