will be on oahu until early a.m. 4th of july.... any fireworks on oahu on the 3rd? also what ideas for my daughters 9th birthday on oahu?

Kids like to swim with the dolphins at Kahala Mandarin or Sea Life Park has programs for kids.

Every Friday (in this case, July 2!!) the Hilton Hawaiian Village has free fireworks around 7:30 PM (check the hotel for the exact time).

Every July 3, Aloha Tower Marketplace has a fireworks show...this is so that it does not compete with the Ala Moana fireworks on July 4. I checked the Aloha Tower calendar and it has this for July 3:
3rd of July Celebration - Celebrate our independence day early with your whole family with carnival-type games, inflatable games, watermelon & pie eating contests, cotton candy, popcorn, 10% discount at participating retail stores, a fashion show, and a dazzling fireworks finale at 8:45pm. Plus enjoy free entertainment on multiple stage with Frank Delima, Kapena, and much more. (75% of all script proceeds will benefit Aloha United Way.)

Theere will be fireworks on the 3rd out at Turtle Bay on the north shore this year. There is a concert with Spyro Gyra and others and fireworks afterwards.
What are your daughter's interests? A birhtday picnic on a beach in Hawaii might be fun! Tell her you are flying to Hawaii specifically for her picnic... ;-)

My 9year old daughter suggests several b-day ideas: the Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park, hike to Maunawili water fall, or take a surfing lesson in Waikiki from one of the beach boy concessions.
