What day of the week are you going? Millbrook, NY is an interesting town. It has a farmers market on Saturday morning.
Also, of course, are any of the towns in the Bershires--Lenox, Great Barrington, etc.
And, finally, there the Shaker Village in Hancock, MA, in the Berkshires. A great place to spend a few hours.

Amherst Brewing Co is good...I went to college in Amherst, so the following places are student-budget, but the food is excellent:
Antonio's pizza (best slice in the world)
Bueno Y Sano (fresh, inventive burritos)
Judie's (little more $$, great popovers, good lunch place)
Claudia's Cafe (good cappucino drinks and pastries)
Pinocchio's (pricey, but great Italian)
Black Sheep Cafe (great sandwiches and cookies)
These are all in the immediate downtown Amherst area.
Enjoy!
