Just wanted to add that we have stayed at the Embassy Suites two times and great value for your $$'s. The hotel serves a terrific full breakfast to get you started off for the day and if you are around in the evening free drinks and snacks.
It would be nice if you report back how your holiday with the kids (young adults) worked out.
Enjoy one of my favourite cities.

I'm not an expert but I live in the NYC area. Just wanted to let you know that if you get into the taxi line just outside of Penn Station you should be able to get a taxi that fits more than four. I have done it several times and there is someone there to help you. He will put you into a little mini van taxi.

Until the teens can pay their own way, I'm sure they'll just be happy to be in NY. I pass them every day and their mouths are hanging open just like the adults!
If you want something fun to do that's more kid oriented I would go to ESPN zone in Times Square. You'll probably be in the area anyway at some point and it's a blast.

random,
I've seen a few of those Citypasses. I think the one that offers the best value offers the fewest venues, but the longest time to use it (9 days). if you google Citypass New York you'll get their web site that shows this pass for $63 which means your Costco price is a good one. There are other passes, but they are only one- or two-day passes, so you'd have to be really on the go to make the best use of them.
