NYC-Restaurants near the Omni

Hi all. My husband and I are staying at the Omni (52nd and Madison) on New Years Eve and would like to find a good restaurant in the vicinity. I am considering Sparks but was wondering as an alternative if we should just stay closer to the hotel... any suggestions?

Thanks so much!

Asia de Cuba is right around there. Very trendy and great food. Also Le Cirque is right around there also if you want to splurge.

The best Italian......Fresco by Scotto. 34 E. 52 St. between Madison & Park. ph 212 935-3434 1/2 block away from hotel. Yummmmm. Delicious food and great service. Dressy casual. Don't know if they are open on New Y's Eve. Trust me, you will not be disappointed. Featured on Regis & Kelly this a.m.

Asia de Cuba is down at 37th Street and Madison.

Near your hotel are the Brasserie on East 53rd Street between Lexington & Park Avenue.

Maloney & Porcelli are very good for steaks and their pork shank has gotten terrific reviews.

Walk over to 55th Street & 56th Street bet. 5th & 6th Avenue. Both are 'restaurant rows' - one restaurant after the other; take your pick. Have fun.

I'll second Fresco, right out your door. Great Italian and excellant New Years Eve packages to ring in the New Year. Not cheap, but what is?

Fresco.....yummy. Love the food, the service, the decor, and only 25 steps from your hotel. A favorite of ours. If you can not make dinner, try the 'take out' lace right next door. Yum. We LOVE this restaurant.
