NYC - Museum Mile quick bites to eat?
My sister and I are doing a one day jaunt to NYC on Saturday to see the Monet exhibit, the Van Gogh exhibit at the Neue Gallerie and the Frick (hopefully we can get that all in, but we can return to the Frick, obviously). We have decided not to try to eat a big sit-down meal to accomplish all this, but will need to pick up something quick (sandwich, salad) sometime between galleries. Any recommendations in the Museum Mile area between E 64th and E 86th?
Thanks!

The restaurant actually in the Neue Gallery - Cafe Sbarskey is very good - viennese food in a beautiful setting - light sandwiches, entrees and divine desserts and coffees. Check out the menu at www.menupages.com
There is also a Pain Quotidian on Madison and 84th Street and a Dean and Deluca at Madison and 85th.

There's a Mitchell London Foods on East 65th between 5th and Madison. I think there's another little takeout place next door to it as well.
65th is near the zoo. You could buy food there and eat it in the Park.
While the Neue Gallery is great, oftentimes there is a long wait to eat upstairs.

All good suggestions so far. I'll add there's a Viand coffee shop on Madison & 61 st & another on Madison & 78 st. They're known for their fresh turkey sandwiches.
Via Quadronno is a Milanese panini bar on 73 st. b/w Madison & Fifth where you can eat in or take food out.

Cafe Sabarsky at the Neue is really very lovely. However, it's not a place for a "quick bite." And like others mentioned, lines can be long.
If you don't make it there for lunch, definitely try to go there in the afternoon for a cup of Viennese coffee and a slice of cake. You can almost believe you're in Vienna!
