NYC-Marriott Marquis Specials

I just received a mailing from Marriott Marquis offering a lot of nights the rest of this year for $189 and some nights for $139. Especially exciting is December 16-27 all at $189 except for Christmas night (25th) at $139. Hard to get such a good rate so close to Christmas, usually. Call 1-800-248-5582 and ask for Rate Program LOCX for the $189 nights and Rate Program LOCZ for the $139 rates.
Here are full dates:
For $189: April 6,8,9,15,16,17,20; May 13,14,24,25,27,28,29,30,31; June 1,2,3,17,18,28,29; July 11,12,13; August 5 to 17, 22 to 26,30; September 4,15,16,17,18 25,26,27,28,29,30; October 12,13,14,15,19,20,21,28,29,30; November 18,19,20; December 16 to 27.

For $139:
April 8,15,29; May 6,13,27,28; June 3,10,17,24; July 15,22; August 5,12,26; September 2,3,16; October 28; November 18; December 25

These are super rates at my favorite hotel in the heart of the theatre district of NYC. Always ask for a room on an upper floor facing up Broadway if possible for a floor to ceiling, wall to wall view that is heart stopping!
P.S. No I don't work for Marriott or have any financial interest -- just like the hotel and these are such great rates, I thought people might like to know about them.

I tried this morning to book this but the hotel wouldn't do it. Tried again tonight and although they still wouldn't do it, they said the Renaissance in Times Square would honor the rate of $179.

I booked the Marriott Marquis (for December) this morning using the codes ($189) you provided. Thank you very much! FYI -- I got first row center Mezzanine tickets to see The Producers!!

Very excited!!

Thanks for the help!

Whitmonk, were you trying for one of these specific dates or did you have more than one option? Since these were newly added dates, it's hard to imagine that most wouldn't be available. And did you call the number I gave rather than the general number for Marriott Hotels?

Hey Pat, thanks for a truly great tip and a very thoughtful gesture. Sure wish similar altruistic attitude was more apparent here.
Cheers

I just called the 800 number for that special rate at the Marriott Marquis and was told the May dates were not available and they told me the Reniassance would honor $179 rate for same dates. I was asked if I had flyer in front of me, I said someone told me about the rate specials. They explained that those rates were for someone who had stayed there a lot and not for other people??? So, can anyone give any insight into the Reniassance Hotel? I was told it was a 4 star hotel. I am booked at the Hilton Times Square, but can't find out anything about rooms, and if it is nice and safe.

I just went to playbill.com and checked their rates for Renaissance Hotel and it shows $155 AARP rate and 1 night at $148, which lookes to be pretty good deal. Also checked Fodors.com rants and raves and only negative thing I saw was about noise from ajoining rooms, but rest seemed to have good things to say about it.

Patrick, in answer to your question, yes, I was trying to book some specific dates, but they were some of the ones you listed. Had an interesting turn of events yesterday, tho - my grown sons decided to go with us, so we tried to get them into the Renaissance with us. Wouldn't you know, that wasn't available, but they were honoring the Marquis special again, so we booked 2 rooms at the Marquis and cancelled the reservation we had at the Renaissance. And BTW, thanks for your help!
