NYC Irish Bar
Five years ago while staying at the Crowne Plaza in Times Square from our room we could see a restaurant/bar on the side street. I think it was Irish because I had a glass of cider and my wife had a Jameson. It would have been on W 48th between Broadway and 8th. Anyone know the name? Thanks, Poppa

St. Andrews is really nice -- but it's on 44th and it isn't Irish -- it's Scottish.
I think Pig n' Whistle has good food and is a fun place -- 47th between 6th and 7th. (Although their shepherd's pie is ground beef not lamb -- which I think means they should call it cottage pie.)

Yes, St. Andrew's is Scottish, but it serves both cider and Jameson and has, by far, the best selection of whiskies in that area.
The "Irish" bars in the Times Square area are uniformly horrible.
