Depends on size of our group. Right now it looks like 8 folks.
one suggestion is a VERY inexpensive greek resto
www.dafnitaverna.com on 42 between 8-9th aves if DebitNM wants to eat before the 7 pm curtain.

If it's a nice day there is an outdoor area where Neo has stayed between 8 & 9th 49th-50 streets, World wide something. Neo would know better. We met there once before & it worked out well.

If it works out timewise that will be great for me. I will be in Hell's Kitchen then about four blocks from there.

That outdoor area Rhea mentions is between the two towers of Worldwide Plaza. It's in the middle of the block between 49th and 50th and between 8th and 9th. I'm not sure what exactly is there now (this area is built over the underground theatres -- New World Stages--where Avenue Q and other shows are playing).
The outdoor restaurant there along 49th is new and seems when I go by to be very popular. The one along 50th is primarily Mexican, but they have good and inexpensive drinks.

When I go into the city, I usually return home by either bus or train by 5, so not really sure I'll make this event, but I'll see.

I love the idea of Greek and Dafni Taverna looks perfect! Drinks starting at 4:30? And then we can order food either individually or a group of appetizers. How does that sound?
Thanks for the suggestion Rhea~

I had lunch with Rhea at Dafni before a show. It's quite delightful and we don't have to worry about weather!

I am a maybe. I can't do dinner, but I can join you guys for a drink if you are still meeting at 4:30.

I've never been to a GTG before!

Time is still 4:30. We will probably do appetizers or light food. But come for a drink!

What is the protocol for identifying ourselves. Do we carry Fodor's guides? Should I have a palmetto leave and Debbie have an adding machine?

Good one, palmetto!

It looks like it will be a small gatherinng; centralparkgirl, you, me and perhaps travelgirl2. Not sure about Rhea or Itlhermits.

We'll figure out a way ~ always do.

If it's a small group, we can go anywhere near the theater. Dafni is further west, but I will meet you wherever you like. Looking forward to it!

I have never been to the Long Room gastro pub on 44th (6th and Bway). Has anyone? What I noticed is that their flatbread pizza comes from Sullivan St Bakery - a good omen? They take reservations. I can check it out tomorrow or next Tuesday.

Other thoughts?
