NYC for 7 days, w/family; Laundry?
We are staying at the Manhattan Club for a week in March. (I did my search here and read all the opinions on The MC--I got my week off eBay!).
Family of four, and we don't wish to take our closets with us. What do people do for laundry when they stay a week. Nears Sudz is 5 city blocks away.
Any suggestions? I don't want to pay $9/pair of kids pants to be laundered.
THX.

Most of the laundromats, have a "bulk" service, for a set amount, they weigh the laundry and will do it for you. You bring it in and pick it up. Figure a large bag will be $20.
Have a great time while you are here.

Just drop off the laundry in the morning and pick it up in the afternoon. No need to purchase detergent etc. It's charged by the pound.
FYI Many New Yorkers never do laundry -- my girlfriend hasn't done a load of laundry in 4 years.

Agree about many NYCers not doing laundry - there's just no need. I may do some one or twice per year if I need something immediately for some reason.
Otherwise its' the cleaners - who also do laundry by the pound - and pick up and deliver - check to see if the one near you will do so.

And on the other side of this question - what many people do when staying a week is pack enough underwear and socks for the whole trip, and only a few pairs of pants and tops that they wear multiple times. Everything coordinates, and you can pack pretty lightly for a 1-week trip if you plan well.
If your kids are really small they'll need more outfits as they tend to make a mess of them, but they're outfits are also small, so that's OK. And, you could wash a few baby outfits in the sink and let them dry while the baby messes up the other.
Older kids should be able to wear clothes multiple times like adults do.
Not that a laundry service is a bad idea - there are just other options too. I've never needed to do laundry for a 1-week trip, and I do love to pack light!
