Thanks all for your feedback. Didn't mean for this to turn into a heated discussion on the semantics of tapas.
IMDonehere, I truly wish I was headed to Spain and looking for info on "real" tapas. Others had it right that I was simply looking for a stopover with "American" tapas, i.e. good nibbles/small plates and a nice glass of wine.
Both Ardesia and the Blue Bar look appealing and worthy of a visit. The good news is physical therapy is progressing nicely and I think I can make the trek without a pit stop if necessary.

By the way, the brand new Hyatt Times Square opens this month -- on 45th between 6th and Broadway. It has a rooftop lounge, I think now the highest in the city -- on the 54th floor -- with appetizers and cocktails or wine.
