No antiLuke, I think the point here is that Sir Paul, a very very wealthy man, can afford to donate a million or two of his own money instead of making his fans pay $2,500 per ticket to be graced with some of the sappiest musical crap written in the last 1/2 century. Hell, even Dr. Dre donated $1,000,000.

A thought here...how do we know that Sir Paul did not donate to the cause? He may have and we will never know it. Geez..if there are people out there willing to pay...why not? I don't see Sir Paul "forcing" anyone to buy these tickets. And to let you know..never have been a fan of his..and I know he does not need me to defend him either just tired of everyone putting someone else down because they don't like him or his music(?). I'm just a little tired of the celebrity culture, that's all. I'm a little jaded and wonder why egocentric people like McCartney and Seinfeld REALLY want to put on concerts. I found the Princess Diana pageant/funeral very maudlin. I remember how Cher used Sonny's funeral to talk about herself, only incidentally bringing up her ex-husband's life and times.

It's not only Sir Paul. The concert also includes Eric Clapton, The Who, Bon Jovi, and Mick Jagger. They all have very deep pockets, and who knows, maybe they have donated. Can't hurt to get more donations...

Word has it that God is allowing Keith Moon, Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, John Bonham, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Elvis Presley, Karen Carpenter, Liberace, Andy Gibb, John Lennon, Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette, Roy Acuff, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong, Scott Joplin, Duke Ellington, Sid Vicious and Judy Garland to perform on a one time basis.

It'd be worth it to see Stevie Ray Vaughn. Maybe even hear Free Bird sung by Van Zandt would be good too.

I'd really like Van Zandt to belt out Sweet Home Alabama.

The rumor mill has Sid Vicious playing guitar as Frank Sinatra sings "Anarchy in the UK" and "God Save the Queen."
