NW strike?

Does anyone know the status of the pilots threat to strike? I have reservations Monday the 6th and I'm a little nervous. I checked and I can actually book another airlines for the dates I need. I'd be double booked on different carriers but I'd be covered if the worst happen. Should I jump on this 2nd reservation for piece of mind or am I just being hysterical?

According to some of the latest news:

http://www.amtonline.com/

The two sides are still talking and, I think, for obvious reasons.

I somehow suspect you, and they, will be flying on the 6th.

Normally there is a 4 to 5 day lag time in actually "beginning" a strike and the actual walk-out.I cant imagine the strike happening anyway. Both sides are "rational" people, facing real issues and with families, etc etc. There is way too much at stake. My crystal ball is a little fuzzy, but I dont think it will happen.

I live in Minneapolis (NWA headquarters), and I can tell you that it is in EVERYONE'S best interest to avoid a strike. In the end, I think Northwest will realize that they need to offer the pilots a competative compensation in line with the industry, and the Pilots will realize that a smaller paycheck is better than no paycheck at all.

All I can tell you is that everyone here is working hard on this... I think they will come to some agreement.

Thanks for the replies.
I agree going out on strike right now would be foolish at best. Unfortunately, I've seen other unions go out when the company really had not much to lose. The members went on strike, the company folded and everyone lost not only their jobs but their entire pension plan.
Keeping my fingers crossed...............

According to the Mpls. paper they settled the threatened strike sometime today. Hope that means there will be no more upheaval at NWA and they will be able to get out of bankruptcy. We use them often to fly to MSP and Detroit - would hate to have to start having to take nonstops from CA.
