Not really sure

First time visitor to NYC. We have 6 nights & have a lot planned throughout Manhattan. Should we burn a day (with kids 12 &14) on a train ride up the Hudson River or should we just stick around NYC. Thanks 4 your advise

Before you get slammed here, I'd repost with a more descriptive title. "Not really sure" is perhaps the worst I've ever seen on fodors. "New York-train ride up the Hudson?" may be better! You'll get MUCH better responses!

i responded to your other. i would take the ny waterway up the hudson. you can look at their website to see the several tours they offer and perhaps one will work for you. i ride the ferry to work every day and find it is a peaceful way to get from one place to another.

A trip to the amazing Bronx Zoo via subway would be my choice for a day out of Manhattan. (The subway goes above ground for urban landscapes of more than passing interest.)

I assume you're coming here in the near future. If so, it's not the best time of the year to tour the beautiful Hudson Valley. Yes, there's lots to see, but the cold weather season is not the time to do it!
