Northern Light
I'm planning a trip to Alask and wanted some information. A friend of mine mentioned not to forget checkout the northern light early morning.
Can someonw give me an idea when is the best time time in the day as well in the year to see it? Also whats the best place to enjoy is most? Fairbanks? Northern to Fairbanks?

No early morning is not "best". You have to be flexable and start out at darkness. I have even seen northern lights with a sunset.
My best viewing timeframe was in March. Also the bonus out of Fairbanks, the Ice Sculpting Championships. www.icealaska.com
I have seen them very end of August, into Sept. If a priority- allow plenty of time. Both my trips were 2 weeks each.
Fairbanks, is ideal. A worthwhile city to tour during the day, all services. But you will need to be well out of the city for viewing. I like to drive up the Steese, just past the Chena Hot Springs exit and park just up over the hill. Plenty of space well off the road.
I highly recommend you check- daily the nightly predictions. http://www.gi.alaska.edu/cgi-bin/predict.cgi
saves a lot of sleeplessness.
Even with active predictions, you won't see anything if you do not have full viewing of stars and clear nights.
