How long will it take me to drive from North Rim Grand Canyon to the South Rim at the end of May time frame?

It's approximately a five-hour drive, depending on how well you obey the speed limit, how often you stop, which way the wind is blowing, and variations in the rotational speed of the earth.

How long does it take you to drive 215 miles?
Less than 4 hours?

Even though it's only 215 miles from the North Rim to the South Rim Village, the area around the North Rim is slow driving and if you get stuck behind a motorhome then it will even be slower. I would plan on about 5 hours.

You will actually reach the South Rim entrance station about a 1/2 hour before the S. Rim Visitor Center. Please allow time to make stops at the scenic overlooks between Desert View and the S. Rim Village.

I remember thinking "surely it won't take that long to go that many miles". It will take at least 5 hours, maybe longer. We have done it a couple of times--once on a shuttle so we could hike from North Rim to South Rim.
