Nicest hotel in Atlantic City

HI there,

Interested in a nice hotel with good restaurants in Atlantic City. Any ideas would be much appreciated. I looked into the Borgata on Trip Advisor but it had terrible reviews...is it nice are there anyother better places? I am celebrating my husbands birthday.

thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Ceasar's has some great rooms with great views of the ocean. There are several very nice restaurants in the hotel (Mia's, an Italian & a steak) and on the 3rd fl of the Pier their are several less expensive (Phillips Seafood, an Irish Pub)There is also a Morton's steakhouse in the hotel. Harrah's has recently done a renovation, but I haven't dined in their nicer restaurants.
I think the Tropicana is nice also but I can't speak to the restaurants.
We always eat at a great Italian restaurant in town, Angelo's Fairmont Tavern. Not fancy but great Italian food.

I was at Caesars a few weeks ago. We were in the North Temple wing and it was very mediocre. Tiny elevator, dingy, narrow hallway and rooms without windows! If you do stay at Caesars, avoid this wing.

Despite Borgata's poor ratings on tripadvisor, and its spotty, inconsistent service, I still think it's the best place to stay in AC. I'd rate Harrahs Marina second.

I've also stayed at Ballys, Showboat, and Resorts, all of which are somewhat worn and dingy.

Yes The Borgata is the best hotel in Atlantic City by a mile. The mixed reviews give you some indication of the general quality of what you'll find in AC.

Although your question is a bit of an oxymoron, I'd stick w/the Borgata. Keeping in mind if you are used to Vegas, you will be sorely disappointed, anywhere.
