A restaurant called "2 Vine" is spectacular.

We stayed at the Four Points Sheraton. It looked fine on the web. It was not.

The Del Monte Lodge (A Renaissance Hotel) at 41 N.Main St. in Pittsford (585-381-9900). It's a nice and in the village of Pittsford (10 minute drive outside of Rochester). The location is great, one of the nicer towns in the Rochester area ... restaurants and shops in the village (within walking distance from the hotel) and a nice walking area along the Erie Canal closeby. Also, it's quick to get into the city from there right down Monroe Ave which is a good and interesting street into the city and easy to get to other shops/restaurants in the Park Ave area.

I also recommend 2Vines ... one of my favorite restaurants. (You'll need reservations for a Saturday.)

Any ideas of what type of food or price range your looking at? I could recommend tons of places to eat.

Sinbad's, Eddibles, Jine's (great for breakfast or brunch) to name my favorites. Really If your not sure ask at the front desk of your hotel how to get to Park Ave. You can walk the strip and find just about anything and trust me they are all great, I know cause I?ve tried them all!!!

As for things to do check out the George Eastman House, Strong Museum, Highland Park, & High Falls. Also try this link http://www.midtownrochester.com/links.htm

Now hotels I?m not too sure on, my parents always stay in Henrietta when they come, either at the Fairfield Inn or the Country Inn & Suites. It?s about a 15-min. drive from downtown Rochester. But the mall, grocery stores, and chain restaurants are all right there if you do decide to stay in Henrietta.

Our son went to the University of Rochester and we always stayed at the Marriott Courtyard (Brighton). It is about 5 minutes from the University and on the edge of town. I don't know the purpose of your trip, but this is clean and comfortable and serves breakfast (not included in cost).

I would recommend Woodcliff Lodge which is right down the road from Eastview Mall which is very large and has some nice new restaurants. Also, on the same road (Rt 96) towards Pittsford is Richardsons Canal House Inn which is very nice but formal.
