New York in March

I'm going to New York in a couple of days next week (3/22-3/25). I've heard that the weather's pretty bad there right now. Should I bundle up? Do I need to bring a raincoat? I'm coming from CA, where we've been having spring-like weather, so I want to be prepared.

Well, it's always hard to tell week-to-wwek in March, as New York weather is always pretty fickle around now. Nevertheless, the weather is quite good this week, and the forecast through this weekend is for highs in the high-40s. If you bring a range of clothes you can layer, you should be alright, and you might want to throw in a scarf and gloves in case the wind comes up (I don't bother in this weather, but it will no doubt feel colder to you). You should definitely be prepared for the possibility of rain, though you can always buy cheap umbrellas on the street for a few bucks if need be.

Caitlin's right on the mark about the weather. I'm curious, Sun, where did you hear/read that the "weather's pretty bad" in NY now?

Don't let them fool you....New York is cold especially on the streets when the sun does not shine and the wind blows so yes layer...If you are looking for a great restaurant try Miegas a Spanish restaurant by the Harlem tunnel....better than most of the expensive top places and very fun...a little noisy tho. ENJOY!

There is no Harlem Tunnel. Do you mean the Holland Tunnel, which is way downtown?
