We are taking by daughter and her friend to see a show(Wicked) for her birthday (she's turning 14), we would like a fun/special place to eat after the show. I called Carmine's and they are full and we really want to stay in the theater district. Any ideas?

What about Ruby Foo's? My brother and his friends went there and they were high schoolers and had fun.

Cafe un deus trois is a casual french bistro where you can have crayons to write on the table cloths. Trattoria del Arte (only a little out of the way) is bright, busy, with a great antipasto table and a gigantic ceramic nose in the window - and a lot of the waiters are actors - one night we got a waiter who was either a child of Donald/Kiefer Suthrerland - or doing a top notch imitation (I think the latter).

Ruby Foo's is a good choice. Great decor and they have family-style sushi and pan-asian food. Likely something they haven't had before.

I, for one, would love to hear your review of the play and the restaurant you choose when you get back. When are you going?

You might want to try Tony DiNapoli's. It is family style Italian. It is in the theater district but I forget which street. You could also try John's Pizza on 43rd or 44th Street. John's Pizza is in an old church, nice atmosphere. My niece 17 and nephew 12, both really like John's Pizza. Both places are moderately priced. Enjoy the show!!

I'd suggest the Stardust Diner. It's on Broadway around 48th St. All the servers are aspiring actors so they all sing. The kids could get asked to join in if they want. The food is pretty good sandwich fare, and the shakes are great!
