New Orleans Wardrobe

Now that I have a clear idea about the wonderful food inNOLA can I get some wardrobe suggestions.

I want to pack as light as possible but feel comfortable eating on the street as well as a 4 star restaurant. I am learning to dress for my self (it only took 8 million years) but still need help. I will be in New Orleans from 10/30 thru 11/2 and will be staying at the Windsor Court.

Thanks,

lucci

I think the weather in NOLA is fairly enjoyable this time of year. I was in NO in Feb last year and it was soooo COLD! I would pack for warm weather but anticipate some cold weather days as well.

Black pants and cute tops would be my choice.

When I visit New Orleans, I always change for dinner. You can wear whatever you want on the street so I agree go with comfort. If you are going to nice restaurants, you'll want to dress up a bit more, but go with what feels good to you. To me, one of the best things about New Orleans is that you don't have to worry about what other people think. Everyone is just happy to be who they are and celebrates uniqueness!

We have been there at the same time and found warm weather during the day (shorts) and cool in the evenings, (sweaters and/or long sleeves). Keep an eye on the forecast and wait till the last minute if possible so you can have a good idea of what's coming.

And good shoes for walking. We always walk a lot when we are there and the streets and sidewalks are uneven.

I will have a lot to report on when I return. Clothes, food and how this senior experiences Halloween in New Orleans!

Ironandsilk,

I just read the 10 day forecast for Nola and it looks perfect. Has Nola been busy?

You one funny Bird!

Nola to me is like Bermuda. One would think it would be casual, but it is not. Evening and day dress can be quite cosmopolitan. You will be happy to be dressed up to the occasion.

Strongly agree with gyppielou.

Your hotel is pretty formal itself, and people in NO definitely dress better than people in most Northern cities for going out, and there is no comparison with a place like Boston, which takes casual to new lows.
