A very good hole in the wall place is ACME Oyster Bar--been there for manny yrs and is cheap with good food. Fun atmosphere. Usually a line outside to get in but it moves fast. There is a place out on Magazine St that the locals love--someone can tell you the name of it--very popular. Closes promptly at 1:30 for lunch.

Would that place on Magazine be Joey K's? They had the BEST onion rings! (Thought it's been several years since our last visit.)

For a great quick lunch, go to Central Grocery on Decatur Street across from the French Market and delve into an original muffalotta. The sights and smells of that place tell me I'm in a real, Italian alimentari.
