New Orleans - Le Richelieu

I am thinking about booking a room at Le Richelieu for 4 nights. Can anyone tell me about the location of this hotel and its quality? Suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

Le Richelieu is my favorite place to stay in the French Quarter in New Orleans.

If you have a car it is one of the very rare hotels in N. O. that offers free parking.

It is on Chartres, not directly in the noisy section of the quarter, but since the quarter is not really that big, not far from everything.

I believe if you do a search on Fodors (Louisiana and/or New Orleans) you will find many favorable posts about Le Richelieu.

I have stayed there and the free parking is a great thing. It is true that it is on the "edge" of the Quarter. Rooms are basic but nice. I reccommend

My wife and I have stayed at Le Richelieu twice. It has a great location in a quiet corner of the French Quarter. They have a small dining room and bar and the food is excellent. In addition to the free parking they also have a small swimming pool. The concierges are very helpful. About the only negative is that the furnishings are a bit worn. However, we will still be staying there agin on our next trip to New Orleans.

The hotel is nice. I recommend it. They seem to have a very friendly staff and you can't beat the free parking if you're driving to New Orleans.

Website is http://www.lerichelieuhotel.com/
