Nice list! Didn't see any mention of my favorite: Green Goddess (www.greengoddessnola.com). It's not "traditional" New Orleans, but very much "next generation" New Orleans. Also love-love Cochon and Butcher: http://www.neworleans.com/new-orlean...ochon-butcher/

Really enjoyed your report. We are going to be in New Orleans in early april and will try Galatoire, Paul K, Commander's Palace adn Mr. B's. Can you suggest which one/s are better for lunch and which for dinner?

Thanks.

We just hit Mr. B's for dinner in February, monsoon99- and it was fabulous. The best. Did not have a reservation, either.

Partner had lamb, I had woodfire fish. SUPERB. He thought the potatoes- a creamed N.O. style hash browns (they did not LOOK like hash browns at all)were the best potatoes/potato dish that he ever had in his life.

We have reservations for dinner on a Thursday evening. Can't wait to try their hash browns as I have heard about this from other sources. Thanks.

Galatoire's is more fun at lunch IMO. I also think Mr. B's is more fun for lunch. They have a 2 course prix fixe lunch for $20.00. Get the Gumbo Ya Ya and BBQ Shrimp. Go to Bayona, Emeril's or Stella for dinner.

Nice to review this, but I hope no one takes a 9 year old food post as much of a current guideline.
