NEW ORLEANS - FALL IN LOVE WITH LOUISIANA ALL OVER AGAIN
"Fall in love with Louisiana all over again" is the new ad campaign slogan that is luring people back to New Orleans. It is such a heart warming feeling to visit post-Katrina New Orleans. The city has its arms open to you as never before. It needs visitors to help jump start the local economy. It remains, perhaps, the most unique and fun city in the country.
The historic neighborhoods were hardly touched by the storm. Most of the great food and music venues are back. And the spirit of the city never left. City tours now include parts of the city that remain devastated.
We highly recommend a visit to the plantations along the old river road. You can view the webs for Laura, Evergreen, Oak Alley, San Francisco.

The USS Trathen DD530 Association will holding its annual reunion in Baton Rouge in September. One of our days will be spent in NO visiting the D-Day Museum and having the lunch cruise on the Steamboat Natchez.

Just had a great college graduation dinner for 14 at Cannon's on St. Charles. Food was excellent, service top notch, and that was on a Monday afternoon before 5 PM--tough time to find better restaurants open.
I enjoy the Garden District and uptown even more after Katrina--not sure why, but maybe it's such appreciation that it's all still there!![Imported](https://www.fodors.com/community/images/smilies/imported/smiley.gif)
Don't forget The Columns for after-dinner cocktails! ;-)
