New Orleans Bed and Breakfast
I am looking for a bed and breakfast in or near the French Quarter and would like to get some opinions on the Creole Inn (Faubourg Marigny). We are looking for something that offers a suite for four adults that is clean, safe and economical. Any suggestions. Thanks

Thanks, Cindy, but I don't know anything about this particular property so I'm not much help on this one! I do know that it's difficult to find a 4-adult suite that's economical, however, any closer to the French Quarter so the location's probably good although you may want to take taxis at night.
Enjoy your trip, Carolyn.

Carolyn,
I went to NO last New Year's. My boyfriend and I made the HUGE mistake of booking a hotel right outside the French Quarter. Not only was the hotel dirty and rundown, the neighborhood was very questionable. We stayed in this "hotel" the first night and then the next day called a bed and breakfast reservation service. We found the number in "The idiot's guide to New Orleans" One phone call to this service and we had our choice of rooms, all beautiful, and clean and reasonably priced considering the location. The bed and breakfast was actually two blocks from Bourban St., in old slaves's quarters. The owner lived in the house across from the courtyard. It cost about $125 a night, but it was great...! The owner was also extremely nice and took great care of us....Please feel free to write me personally and I will find the phone number of the service as well as the place we stayed at. I highly recommend it, as well the NO guide for Dummies....Have fun..you will have the best time! Milissa

I do not know this Creole Inn but stay on Frenchman Street (Park View B&B) every year at Jazz Fest. In my opinion this is the best place to stay in the city because it is an easy walk to Quarter and good music venues and restaurants nearby. My wife and I feel totally safe in this area and all the other B&B guests seemed to also.
