New Orleans

Looking for a nice romantic small hotel in the French Quarter. Any Suggestions?

Soniat House and Maison de Ville both will fit the bill. Small hotels that are expensive but very nice. Very romantic, too.

Place d'Armes is nice but not in the same league as the other two. Great location though.

Just outside the Quarter, you may try the Omni Royal Crescent (less than 100 rooms) or Loft 523, which is part of the International House boutique hotel.

Still striking out? Okay, Place D'Armes is fine. You may also try the Lafayette Hotel even though it's not in the French Quarter. Also small (50 rooms or so) and very nice.

Other ideas off of the top of my head: International House, Wyndham Whitney, St. Ann/St. Marie and maybe even the St. Helene Guest House on Chartres.

Place D'Armes is fine, now, at one time it wasnt that great but I walked by it one night and it really looked nice. It's also haunted

You didnt say what time of year youre planning to come, but if you wait another month-month and a half none of these places will be expensive!

Lets see... French Qtr, small.... Oh, the Cornstalk on Royal St is pretty small and actually has a front yard which is almost unheard of in the quarter. Lafitte's Guest house on Bourbon is nice; certain rooms nicer than others though and I'm pretty sure they have suites in the main house. The LeMothe House on Espanade is across the street from the Quarter and what used to be(I think) "THE" most expensive B&B in the city, The Melrose is also on Esplanade and I've heard they have rates starting at like 150.00 when it used to be 300.00 and that included a chauffer driven limo from the airport.
They definitely have suites that I'm sure are gorgeous.
