I'd stay more in the Quarter area--I've stayed at the Hotel de la Poste & it is very well located. N. Rampart is kind of getting into the scary area --not too much foot traffic of the tourist type. have a wonderful time--get a guide book for the trip & go,go,go.

A footnote to my earlier messages to pass on the news about how New Orleans celebrates July 4--there will be a pretty big fireworks display at the JAX tower, a landmark near the ferry landing on the River. Be prepared though for HOT, HOT weather. As I write weather forecasters are gearing up for breaking records (95 and above F.) tomorrow and there's no rain in sight here. Joan
