New $20 bills. Help!
I've just picked up my dollars from the currency exchange before my visit to the US, and notice that there is a new style $20 bill (series 2004).
Being used to our Bank of England's habit here in the UK of changing our bank notes every few years and making the old ones no longer legal tender, are the older $20 bills that I still have from previous visits still in circulation?

Good question, one that would never have occured to most people living in the US.
Old US money is good from any period, though as it gets older it is worth more as a collectable than as money.
Nice to see the number of questions about the US from folks in Europe increasing on this board. The weak dollar may help this year's US tourism.

Thanks for all the answers. I have just received $350 for £200.08 (at a rate of $1.75 to £1). When I visited NYC last summer, I got $1.38 to £1. It's now the same as someone just giving you $0.50 back ever time you spend $2. Sorry, but it will make it a heck of a lot cheaper.
