Yes, I'm using a power notebook with specs much superior to that of a normal netbook. I'm pointing out that sleep is not perfect under certain conditions, for my uses, I'm not recommending running power apps on a netbook.

Anyways, my apologies for the hijack, just doing some reading on SSDs.

I put my netbook into hibernate normally rather than sleep. I don't have much on it, because it is only intended for travel or surfing when I can't be bothered to claim several flights of stairs to my PC.
I don't do photo editing on it, though I do have a couple of programs on it for if I want to. Not Photoshop or Elements though!
I also have Open Office installed on it, but haven't actually used it so I may throw that off again. I didn't bother with the full Windows upgrade, as I don't use it for anything which needs full Windows.
The Samsung does come with Hyper Space Instant On which is useful when you are out and about using Wifi connections, as it is faster than starting up Windows.

I think the price requirement is more of a dealbreaker.

To counter Andrew's iPad lack of high capacity support.

I have an ASUS netbook that is perfect for travel and meets the price limit. A netbook does not have a disk drive, so some people buy an external drive, but since I use it mostly for travel I haven't needed the drive. I've been able to download anything I need, like printer drivers. I did, however, buy a wireless mouse. The netbook is small enough to fit into my carryon tote.

I do a lot of genealogy research and this little thing has been a godsend. My regular laptop is so big and heavy that I hated to take it to a library, but this one is so light that I can pick it up and take it with me around the library as needed.
