As I'm thinking about it, there are suburban hotels on major T lines -- the Holiday Inn (I think that's what it is) at the Woodland Station in Newton comes to mind.

Hmmmm, Anonymous, you have totally piqued my curiosity. Sorry if I am being obtuse, but can you explain what you mean?

Tough crowd, but probably right on.

I have checked B & B's AND hostels (I am a big fan of both) and there are availabilities. Less dough too.

Reasons why Anonymous thinks it is a fantasy trip and why some are suspicious of "schnookies"

Click on the name and read her past posts - I assume she is female since she has posted about going to Europe with a girlfriend, then moving from the west coast to the east if she can find her husband work he says he will go -and she finds him a job but is still looking for herself - and has been asking leef peeping questions and routes from CT to Canada since 06...and a myriad of other sometimes seemingly unusual questions about trains from Sweden to Italy and the like.....

So, one always wonders.....but we try and answer nicely in case it is just a person who has little to no travel experience and is hoping to finalize one of her fantasy trips someday - because we can't all be travel gurus....or it's just a kid with too much time on her hands

hopefully schnookies will come back some time and let us know and tell us where she is staying - and a trip report too

The Dedham Hilton in Dedham, MA is located within a very short walk to the commuter train .. only a 17 minute train ride into Boston .. The hotel is nice .. food is good .. lots of restaurants nearby and the location will be fine .. A very easy trip to Boston by commuter rail and not terrible if you wanted to drive into the city .. it is located right off Route 128 .. an easy ride to the Mass Pike .. Route 495 .. really a good central location ... Good Luck ..!

Anon & escargot - once again, I am with you on this one and annoyed it took me so long to catch on - I thought I was unusually nice when answering all her questions.

Escargot, I thought this was the place to come to in need of information regarding places you've never been to before. I must have been wrong. And if you think that I have so much time on my hands, look at yourself, who's going through all my postings. Wow!
By the way, I've noticed that I'm far from being the only one on this board with some unusual questions. Let's just hope that I'll be the world traveler one day, with all the answers like you seem to be. I sure won't put down "the not so travleled ones" in the process. Oh, and don't worry. I'll be back with my report from our trip so you won't feel like you've wasted your time

schnookies...I just got home from a drive to Manchester, VT and the colors are great! They should be great when you come through Vermont too! Have fun.

PS I have noticed there are a fair amount of negative postings and negative banter back and forth between posters and repliers????? What is that all about?

Thanks a lot for the positive report!
I'm glad to hear that you had a great time. I honestly don't know why people here have to be negative and mean. If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing. Right?! Thanks again!

I don't think people are being mean. Not on this thread, but on several others you posted an impossible itinerary (not just busy... impossible) and people kept trying to point this out to you. That's nothing to do about being a world-traveler. It's about listening to the input you are being given to the questions you ask.

As one of the many who did some research for you and suggested hotels, I am still wondering where you ended up staying.

You have been asked this question multiple times and for some reason seem to choose not to answer (certainly your right). But if you are not going to answer, could you please just say so so we stop asking and reading the thread to see where - at this point it is just curiosity.

I am negative and mean. I admit that.

But it's just plain rude to ask questions, get recommendations and then don't have the courtesy and decency to tell us what accommodations you find.

HKP - I don't think she has gone yet? Am I right schnookies?

rkkwan - "But it is just plain rude to ask questions, get reccomendations and then don't have the courtesy and decency to tell us about what accomodations you find."

I didn't know that, I've asked questions, got answers, and never replied back. Sorry for being rude, discourteous and undecent.
