Patrick, nice to hear about Nizza - sounds good. We'll have to check it out - but it's not on opentable yet, even tho marseille and nice matin are . .
I'll be very curious to hear your impressions of Babbo . . .
Funny about North Square - it's been there a long time and I know NO ONE who's ever been. It's just one of those places. But it sounds like it might be good for lunch . ..

williamscb13, yes part of the reason for more places further downtown is due to theatres. We went to AquaGrill because it is just a block from the Soho Playhouse, and at Lupa before Adding Machine at the Minetta. Some of the others have been because of seeing movies at the Quad or elsewhere, and eating nearby. Also we have more non-theatre nights than usual, so that's when we go elsewhere. Don't worry, I'm not going to back off my usual "attack" at those who when asked "We're staying at the Marriott Marquis and seeing Gypsy, where should we have dinner?" answer to go to the Village or East Village or Tribeca or somewhere. I'm a big advocate of eating near the theatre especially before the show and even after.

Patrick,
It was a great to see you and Lee at Roberto Passon's last Friday. I walked by and thought that was you and was afraid to say anything. But I decided that was my one chance to meet you.
The prix fixe lunch was fantastic for $13. I wish I would have wrote down more of your restaurant recommendations.
I should do a trip report. It was my husband's first time there and we did all the usual tourist things, so we really didn't do anything that different.
Hope you and Lee have fun for the remainder of your month.
Denise

Sitting at Laguardia nearly ready to depart for Florida. My this month flew by.
That was so funny, BoniseA. She came up to me from behind while we were eating and asked if my name happened to be Patrick. I guess she recognized us (or really Lee whom she was facing) from the GTG pictures? Sure enough. We did eat at Roberto Passon's three times this trip, more than any other single place, and it is not tooooo unusual that it would be the spot to run into me. But when BoniseA said they hadn't even been to their hotel yet, but came straight there for lunch as to my recommendation, I was tempted to ask the manager to comp MY lunch!
LOL.
I'll be posting the final week after I get home.

PAtrick by this time you are on your way home. I love your reports. I looked at your picture and after a year of reading your reports tis is not what I expected you and Lee to look like. For some reason I thought you would look something like Neal Patrick Harris, don't know why.
I like you just because of the way you talk about Lee. I know it must be hard work for you with his Alzheimer's but just your love for him comes across.
Keep your reports coming.
Glad everything turned out so well with him getting lost. People just don't believe our NYC police men are so nice and helpful.

Travelbug, actually I look a lot like Brad Pitt, but for the purpose of public photos, I try not to confuse people with that.
They thought a man died on the plane coming home. No doctor or nurse on board, they called "Star Med". They gave him oxygen and I'm not sure what else, and he started responding. Very scary. Ambulances were waiting for him when we landed.
We flew into Ft. Lauderdale and drove the most torrential rainstorm ever -- nearly 50 miles of it with blinding rain. Too scary to pull off the side of the road as there is not much of an opportunity along Alligator Alley. But we made it back safe and sound.
And when I went through security at LaGuardia, I put my hand in my pocket and discovered -- the apartment keys I was supposed to leave inside. OOOPS. I've been in touch with the owner and we're working it out. Talk about feeling stupid.

my mom died in january from alzheimers after suffering for 16 years with this disease. some of the happiest memories for our family are the many trips we took together, both before and after her diagnosis. (and we had similar episodes where my mom wondered off-- once in Heathrow Airport). after she was no longer able to travel, we still would spend time telling her about our travels and showing her photos of her past trips. it always seemed to bring a smile to her face.
Treasure your time together!

Oh cripes Patrick, the apartment keys in your pocket, a passenger having a heart attack (I had that happen on a flight home from Mexico and the poor man didn't make it) and torrential rains while driving on Alligator Ally. I can only imagine what a relief it was to get home. But your month in NYC sure sounded wonderful inspite of the couple of hours when you first arrived. Wishing you a good nights sleep! And when you wake up you can unpack and start the laundry, lol. Take care, TTYL.

Having also met Patrick this week, I can attest that, yes, indeed he does look like Brad Pitt, and in fact, he may really be Brad Pitt. We didn't take any pictures so that we wouldn't blow his cover. We didn't notice any bad haircut, either.
Patrick, DD and I loved the After Party!! The music, the absolutely adorable MC and of course the company at our table. Sorry we didn't have more time to chat.
Perhaps your calendar this past month wasn't totally filled with theater outings to leave enough room for all the real-life drama that awaited you!
Welcome home. (or at least your first home. isn't NYC your second home?)
