Just an update that I had my in person interview this week and really enjoyed the place and Raleigh. It's looking like I will get the offer so I'm looking at moving up there this summer. Very exciting!

So happy for you, coldwar27! Do you think you'll choose to live in North Raleigh near your workplace? Sadly, you are not seeing Raleigh at it's prettiest right now because of the drought. Normally, the landscaping is pretty amazing ... Best wishes to you!

Thanks elsiemoo. I told the people that if I get the offer, I would like to go up once more just to drive around and see more of the area. I was really in a small area near Brier Creek and didn't see much beyond that. They were fine with that.

I am use to a 30 min commute now so I don't feel like I necessarily need to live super close. My DH would prefer an older neighborhood or one with a little land but he is just excited about the possibility of Raleigh over Tampa since he is from VT.

sunkid, the Springdale neighborhoods I mentioned are all older, with large 3/4 to 2 acre lots, and Quail Hollow is older, with some larger lots. You will have a lot to choose from here ... I think you may find something without having to do a 30 minute commute unless you're looking for several acres.
