Need Resvs for CapeCod Hotels?

I am considering a play-it-by ear road trip from Boston out to Cape Cod one Sunday in Late June.

With schools out, will it be so busy that we won't be able to get any accomodations without advance reservations? It will be a Sunday night.

Any recommendations for nice places to stay?
I will be hosting a friend from out of the country -- looking for nice, relaxing fun place to stay that won't be too far a drive back to Logan.

Any ideas?

Late June you could get stuck in the side-of-the-road budget motel if you don't have a reservation. Everyone's idea of "nice" is different but we have always been happy at www.hyannisholiday.com

Falmouth is one of the towns closer to the start of the Cape; only 1.25-1.5 (traffic dependant) hours from Boston. I would recommend the Seacrest Hotel - clean and nice. It is also right on a nice beach. Falmouth center is lovely and it is easy to drive anywhere from there. If you stay somehwere at the beginning of the Cape, you have more time to relax ... a nice thought.

Availability will depend a lot on the weather. On a Sunday with good weather you may get people who extend their stay by a day. I would not count on a nice place without a reservation.

Last week in June, beginning of July is a peak vacation time for many people.

Thanks Tracy -- we took your suggestion and stayed at the Hyannis Holiday.

Although it certainly wasn't anything fancy, it was perfect for us. The rooms clean and large & the location couldn't be beat.

Thanks again
